MPNP Expression of Interest Draw #82

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted Expression of Interest Draw #82 on January 30, 2020, issuing a total of 181 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across multiple immigration streams. This draw continued Manitoba’s strategy of selecting candidates who demonstrated strong potential to meet provincial labour market needs.

Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, 124 candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply, with the lowest-ranked candidate invited having a score of 548. The relatively high cutoff score reflected strong competition among in-province applicants, emphasizing the importance of stable employment, language proficiency, and a well-prepared Expression of Interest profile.

The International Education Stream accounted for 18 invitations, offering opportunities to eligible Manitoba graduates who met employment and program requirements. Although this stream does not operate on a ranking score system, strict compliance with eligibility criteria and thorough documentation remained essential for successful nomination.

Under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, 39 candidates were invited, with the lowest-ranked candidate having a score of 679. The competitive cutoff score highlighted Manitoba’s selective approach to overseas applicants, where strong human capital factors, occupational alignment with provincial demand, and credible provincial connections were key determinants of success.

Of the 181 Letters of Advice to Apply issued in Draw #82, 11 were granted to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. Express Entry-aligned nominations provided selected applicants with faster federal processing and a streamlined pathway to permanent residence.

Expression of Interest Draw #82 demonstrated Manitoba’s consistent and competitive approach to provincial nominations in early 2020, balancing support for in-province workers with targeted overseas recruitment. Monitoring ranking score trends remained essential for prospective candidates seeking nomination in future draws.
